Casa di Giocche is an independent 2-bedroom house situated just inside the castle walls, near the original entrance tower. Access to the house is by a flight of grapevine-adorned stone steps. It has adjacent parking.
The living room with beamed ceilings and rustic terracotta brick floor has a dining table for four people and a fireplace.
The separate, eat-in kitchen has a full size refrigerator and stove, a dishwasher and a marble-topped table.
There are two bedrooms, with beds that can be united as queens or separated as twin singles. Both of them have windows on two sides and are full of light.
There is one bathroom with tub and wall shower.
Casa di Giocche has a private shady grass garden. It has lovely views of the valley and the hills beyond it, and it is ideal for a family with children.

“Giocche” was an Italian attempt to spell the English word “jockey”, the nickname of the man who handled the horses but also tended the garden and wine cellar.
The vine that shades the stairs to Casa di Giocche today is a remnant of the vines that were grown throughout the farm. The grapes were pressed in the courtyard and the fragrant must was then piped to vats in the tinaio. Later the rich red Chianti wine was refined in great barrels below the floor of the Sala d'Armi, the great hall of the castle proper. Its smell filled the air all fall and winter.
