Proprio nel cuore del borgo sorge una grande casa che si chiama San Giovanni. Questo appartamento si trova al piano terra, sul lato orientale.
La sala principale ha l’area soggiorno, l’area pranzo e l’area cucina, completa di frigorifero.
Delle due camere da letto, una ha un letto matrimoniale e l’altra ha un letto matrimoniale che, su richiesta, può essere diviso in due letti singoli.
Entrambe le camere hanno il proprio bagno. Uno dei bagni ha la doccia mentre l’altro ha una vasca con doccia.
San Giovanni, tutto insieme, è composto dai due appartamenti al piano terra, uno a est e l’altro a ovest, e dal grande appartamento al piano superiore: la Loggia. Volendo si possono connettere i tre appartamenti e affittare tutto San Giovanni per 16 persone.

The large building of San Giovanni was originally three adjacent Longobard towers, built perhaps as early as 600 or 700AD. With the coming of the Berardenga family after 850 it was englobed in their castle. Eventually the middle tower collapsed partially and the once defensive castle continued life as a peaceful agricultural center.
It became known as 'la Casa del Contadino' when it housed the only peasant family to live inside the castle walls instead of dispersed around the extensive property. Pigs, cows and oxen lived in the barn downstairs (Fondi), the contadino and his large family on the middle floor, and pigeons, chickens and silkworms on the top floor.
The kitchen on the east side occupied the middle room, with a small window and a large recess where the coppered pots and pans hung above a big flat stone sink that now sits outside the house near the Fondi door.
The wall alongside the stairs that lead to the court contains a stone with a hole in it, where the children of the family would deposit the teeth they lost for the Tooth Mouse to ‘buy’ with a small coin.
